2013 Chevrolet Traiblazer - Asian Market

Ladies and Gentlemen, the most awaited mid-size suv has already arrived! The 2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer.

When my consultant advise me that the unit already arrived here in the Philippines, I was very excited, and assuming that this vehicle would be a competitor of Toyota's best selling Fortuner.

The unit offers two variant same as Toyota Fortuner, a 2.5 and 2.8 Diesel engine as to Fortuner's 2.5 and 3.0 engine.

2.5 variant offers a 150 hp 350Nm of torque and equipped with 5-speed manual which off-roaders will be happy with it.


2.8 variant offers a 180 hp and 470Nm of Torque and equipped with 6-speed automatic.

Now, you got two variants, and you don't know who is who; here are some tips that can distinguish the variants the first thing that you will see an actual unit, besides opening the engine and looking at the badge at the back.

The first thing that you need to see is the design of their rims:

Inside the vehicle is equipped with new gauges that you will definitely enjoy, foldable seats for added feature on the vehicle; the vehicle interior and feature is very similar to Toyota Fortuner even its led tailight.

Chevrolet introduced Intake Valve Lift Control (IVLC)

Chevrolet introduced another breathrough in car technology that improves fuel efficiency by delivering the right air and fuel distribution to its engine, the technology is called Intake Valve Lift Control or IVLC, similar to Toyota's VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing-Intelligent) and Honda's I-Vtec (Intelligent Variable Time Electronic Control). The said technology will work with Ecotec engine to deliver maximum fuel-efficiency for 2014 Chevrolet Impala models.

Chevrolet Colorado - Asian Release

Chevrolet Colorado (also known as Holden Colorado and Chevrolet S10)officially landed in the Philippines shore. This will make Toyota Hilux's main compeitor in terms of hauling and performance.

Chevrolet Colorado: Engine

The Chevrolet Colorado is equipped with a new Duramax engine, with a selection of 2.5L and 2.8L displacements, equipped with CRDi (Common Rail Direct Inject) and VGT (Variable Geometric Turbo) tecnology on 4x4 and 4x2 drivetrain. The 2.8 engine, it producing 180hp at 3800 RPM and a torque 470 Nm @ 2000 RPM transferred to its six-speed automatic transmission while the five-speed variant it produces a torque of 440Nm @ 2000 RPM.

On the 2.5 engine variant offers a 4x2 option, five-speed manual transmission producing 150hp @ 3800 RPM and a torque of 350 Nm @ 2000 RPM.

Chevrolet Colorado: Performance/Hauling
The said variants are perfect for hauling things especially it comes with a leaf spring suspension build for toughness. All Colorado variants are Z71 high stance models that have sufficient ground clearance to go through rough terrains and water depth up to 800mm at 7km/hr.


Chevrolet Colorado: Lights

Another feature that Chevrolet Colorado has, it is equipped with LED tailight for maximum light output with a minimum electric consumption, unlike to its competitor they still use the conventional light bulb on their tail lights.


One of the best thing about Chevrolet Colorado is that it comes with a 5-year warranty that tops other manufacturer's 3-year warranty.

2013 Chevrolet Spin - For Asian market

Well, Chevrolet released another MPV that will add spice to the automotive market, the 2013 Chevrolet Spin. This would the little sister of Chevrolet Orlando which also categorized as an MPV, let us consider Chevrolet Orlando as the big brother of Chevrolet Spin because of its apparent size.

Chevrolet Spin is offered in 1.8 Flex engine, which has the edge to other competitor because it is capable of using an ethanol as its fuel.


The simplistic design is one of the experience that you will get on the Chevrolet Spin which is one of the taste of Asian motorist.

2012-2013 Chevrolet Trailblazer - Asian Version

Definitely this will be a competitor for Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet is very aggressive on providing buyers more option from the land of freedom.

It is said that the chassis of the Asian version of the Chevrolet Trailblazer will be based on Chevrolet truck that has the capacity of going off-road at the same time has the functionality of a mid-sized suv in urban-setup.

Information on the specification on the vehicle is not yet released as the production will be on the go this year, but rest assure that we will keep you posted on the mid-sized arsenal of chevrolet that will be offered in Asia.
