2012 Chevrolet Orlando For Philippine Market

Last month, at the Chevy Motorama held at the Music Hall in SM Mall of Asia, Chevrolet announced that they will bring the Chevrolet Orlando here in the Philippines; a seven-seater MPV or Multi-Purpose Vehicle by Chevrolet Motors. This week when I am doing my christmas shopping, I saw already that Chevrolet are already selling this vehicle and of course inspect the said vehicle.


Outside of the vehicle, it gives me this impression of a bulky feeling, a feeling that this vehicle is definitely is an American vehicle. But, this vehicle has a heart of an Asian spirit. A sleek and sophisticated design, which will think that this vehicle is a luxurious vehicle — expensive just like the Chrysler Grand Voyager. But don't be deceive by the looks, the introductory price of this vehicle is 1,188,888.00 pesos — not bad for an American brand though.

Inside of this vehicle, the company made it so good that you will think twice that this vehicle is luxury mpv again. The said vehicle offers features like cruise control, auto-climate control, auto-headlamp control, rain sensing wipers, and more.

A 1.8 ecotec petrol fed engine was offered in the Philippine market — not bad for family use and soccer moms out there.

My sources said that the vehicle will coming from Thailand — that quite new to me because as far I know that this kind of model where made from South Korea. Anyway, if you are looking for a new vehicle this coming 2012, I'll definitely recommend this model.

Some of the competitor of this model are Grand Livina of Nissan; Carens of KIA; and Grand Voyager of Chrysler — if you are a filthy rich person.

There Can Be Dangerous Toxins In Automobiles

Every day millions of people climb in their automobiles, along with small children and pets, to go shopping, to work or other destinations. In summer they turn on the air conditioning to cool the vehicle fast, in winter they crank up the heat to warm the car quickly. Windows are left closed to keep cool air or heat in. Little thought is given to the air quality inside the automobile, but that is a mistake. One or more people are closed in a small, confined space filled with plastics and chemically treated fabrics. Air conditioners and heaters are pumping air that may or may not be safe into the vehicle.

Recent studies have shown that there can be many harmful chemicals off gassing into the automobile. Chemicals used to treat fabrics to make them soil resistant or fire resistant in the vehicle off gas over time. Even more harmful gasses are released into the interior of the vehicle when cars are parked in the summer sun. Toxic chemicals are often used in the manufacturing of plastic car parts like steering wheels, dashboards, consoles and other interior trim. The heat and cold conditions the automobile is subjected to, cause off gassing over time. If a car is left closed up all the time there is nowhere for the bad air to go.

Some of the chemicals that can be found in the family automobile are asbestos, bisphenol (BPA), benzene, chlorine, PVC, cadmium, arsenic and mercury. Older, foreign and classic cars tend to have more of these dangerous chemicals especially in their parts like brakes, linings, clutches, etc. but new cars also have their share. Though we may not suffer these conditions now, it is wise to take a few precautions to protect ourselves.

There are some simple steps to limit the harmful chemical off gassing and air pollution inside the family automobile. Park in a garage or a shady spot whenever possible. Before getting in the vehicle open the door and let the car air out for a few minutes before entering. Once inside the car, open the windows for further airing out, and wait a few minutes to turn on the air conditioning. You can even find kits to test the air quality inside your vehicle. When purchasing a new automobile, do some research to find which manufacturers make the safest cars, with the least dangerous chemical use. Ask the auto dealership about the manufacturing process for the cars they sell, and if the manufacturer is taking steps to cut down on dangerous chemicals in the interior. When cleaning the interior of your automobile, use safe products that will not leave toxins in the air. Buy a safe car, keep it out of the heat and sun when possible and air it out before driving to keep you and your family healthier.

GMC Astro Van GMC Safari Itasha and Sound-setup van

One thing comes to my mind whenever I will see a GMC Safari van; there will be a big high wattage amplifier and subwoofers inside of it and making a tremor on the road. This kind of vehicle is very apparent in the US and very few in Asia especially in the Philippines.

But I saw this kind of setup at the 2011 Manila Auto-salon but an Itasha touch on the auto-detail which is very popular in Japan.


Don't be deceived by its body-detailing for this vehicle produces a massive wave of bass that shakes the floor of the event.



When you look at the back of the van it's a total entertainment vehicle complete with an LCD and Chuckie toys where also displayed.



It is very apparent they used a Cadence Speakers on their audio-setup.
